Indian Vintage Bikes

The earlier motorcycles refer to the Indian bikes manufactured by the Indian Motorcycle company in America. Classic buys were simple built on the basis of bicycles and road bikes. The fuel efficiency and power performance were not a key factor.

Ironically most bikes are now found in museums. Most bikes are more of a pride factor rather than practical use. The production companies have gone through a series of revolutions and the old parts are now not available. With a range in mountain bikes, road bikes, sports variety and other fuel efficient systems the vintage bikes no more ply on the Indian roads.

Earlier the bikes were imports and many companies like TVS and Madras Motor companies started their own industries. Bullet was an indigenous product by the Enfield company and versions on the bullet are still preferred by macho roadies.

Old spare parts relate to battery, engine, electrical, controls, fork seals, sprockets, gasket, and many more. Recent bikes work on better power capacity, hydraulic brake system and better load capacity. Electric bikes are much popular among masses and overcomes the problem of pollution.

BSA Bantam was originally a German art. An English engineering company further produced Royal Enfield and had an earlier history to pioneer in arms and weapons for military use. In 1962 the Royal Enfield company went on to produce full fledged bikes. Better exhaust systems were built by Harley Davidson based in USA. Yamaha RD 350 was popular in 1980. The Yamaha Banshee is still a famous vintage product. Suzuki has set a trend with power bikes like the Hayabusa with its 1299 cc, and power of 175 bhp.
